MSNBC’s Morning Joe is a media institution that has long struggled with the truth, but between their relentless and unhinged attacks on Hillary Clinton, and their mutual admiration society with Donald Trump, they’ve gone off the rails in 2016.

Two weeks ago, CNN Money reported on the cozy, personal relationship co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski enjoy with Trump, and how nervous it’s making their co-workers and bosses.

Watch Mika and Joe in full panic mode, desperately trying to explain their actions:

And, yesterday, this happened:

Mika pushed back:

The reason we write about this stuff isn’t because we aspire to be gossipy media insiders. It’s because Morning Joe’s brand of innuendo and misinformation has corrosive effects on our national political discourse.

They may be getting hit for their Trump obsequiousness, but their deplorable treatment of Hillary Clinton is even more of a problem.

For instance:

“You want me to indict and damn Hillary Clinton and I’m not going to do it.” This was an exasperated NYT reporter Jeremy Peters on the set of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” as Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski tried to chip away at him and push him to personally declare that Clinton did something horribly wrong. The topic was Clinton’s infamous email server, which, in recent weeks, has absolutely outraged Brzezinski.

On the set of Morning Joe, this sort of thing goes on all the time. So enjoy your Morning Joe if you must, but please, treat the information Joe and Mika present as suspect until proven otherwise.
