With Donald’s campaign already under relentless fire for racism, xenophobia, and appeals to white nationalism, now there are questions being asked about the curious choice of imagery used in a tweeted graphic accusing Hillary of corruption.
After “Star of David” started trending on Twitter, Donald removed the tweet.
But what, exactly, was Donald trying to convey here — and to whom was he trying to convey it, with what looks very much like a dog whistle trading on ancient antisemitic stereotypes?
At the very minimum, this was insensitive and clueless. At worst, it’s further evidence that Donald is running a campaign explicitly designed to appeal to white supremacy.
