This simple cartoon shows what victim-blaming really looks like

3 months ago | by Jill Bond

Victim-blaming isn’t a unique experience to women, but women certainly bear the brunt of it. Gloria Steinem wrote

“Women’s rights are human rights, and we must shift the blame from women who suffer sexualized violence to men who inflict it; from women who are raped to men who rape; from battered women to battering men; from sexually-abused children to adults who sexually abuse.”

Amen to that! Steinem went on to say

“Right now, the victim still may be punished more than the criminal, men may assault females to punish other men, and victimized females are often punished more than the males who victimize.”

“I felt so angry at the UCSB massacre and the sexism we’re blind to everyday” said RazzyTastic on Tumblr “So I drew about my opinions on sexism to channel my rage.”

We must all speak up as a nation and shift the blame to where it belongs, with the perpetrators.

browsing through a few of the articles I realized it’s new to me.
Nonetheless, I’m definitely happy I stumbled upon it and I’ll be book-marking it and checking back regularly!
