On average, women make 80% of what men make in the state of New Jersey, but Chris Christie still vetoed the Equal Pay Bill that would have prohibited employers from paying women less than men for “substantially similar” work.
New Jersey’s bill would have restarted the statute of limitations each time an employee was given an unfair paycheck and allowed the employee to get back pay for the entire time she was being paid less.
Christie called the bill “nonsensical” and said it would make New Jersey “very business unfriendly.”
Christie is currently stumping for his former nemesis Donald Trump, who holds a 70% unfavorability rating among women. It seems Christie is falling right in line with the anti-woman candidate.
He ought to learn something from Trump’s “woman card” attack, which backfired spectacularly.
