The original post (below) was written after Hillary’s huge South Carolina win. In the days since, Hillary has had a series of major victories, placing her ahead in both the popular vote and the pledged delegate count. It is truly shaping up to be a Hillary revolution in 2016.
The math has quickly become prohibitive for Bernie and we have repeatedly called on him to stop his evidence-free Wall Street dog whistle impugning Hillary’s integrity. There is absolutely no justification for Bernie and his aides to continue their “artful smear” campaign, especially when she has a greater than 50% chance of being the Democratic nominee.
No Democrat should savage the character of another when we could be facing Trump or Cruz in the general election.
Hillary’s staggering South Carolina victory reinforces something we wrote earlier today…
Perhaps the real revolution is this:
The Quinnipiac University survey shows Clinton with 59 percent support in the Sunshine State, followed by Bernie Sanders, her sole remaining rival, with 33 percent support. Clinton, who is vying to become the first female president, makes strong inroads among women in the state, carrying the demographic by a 69-34 percent margin.
Those are astonishing numbers. And it’s not just Florida:
In Massachusetts, Clinton leads by 21 points among female voters — with a 41-point margin among women over the age of 50.
Quietly, steadily, women are carrying Hillary to victory.
And her strength among black voters is sure to freak out Republicans.
2016 is shaping up to be a revolution 227 years in the making.
