Bernie’s reputation is fast degrading as he continues attacking Hillary, but he can’t seem to help himself, repeating today that Hillary was “anointed” even though she has millions more votes than he does. Jake Tapper, one of the most even-handed reporters of the 2016 cycle, held him accountable in a testy exchange on CNN.

Bernie knows that he has one way to salvage his brand: help Hillary defeat Trump. For some reason, he can’t bring himself to do it.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, he claimed, absurdly, that his campaign has more enthusiasm and energy than Hillary’s, even though she has millions more votes — once again denigrating and marginalizing Hillary’s millions of supporters.

He refused to say that the candidate with the majority of pledged delegates at the end of the primary process should be the nominee. And he insisted that he was a better general election candidate than Hillary despite the reality that he has never withstood the full fury of the rightwing attack machine and would likely wither under its fire.
