Last summer, the New York Times shocked the country with a false report that Hillary Clinton was the subject of a criminal investigation. Recently, BNR identified two instances of the Times publishing erroneous information about election results. In each of these cases, the proverbial lie traveled halfway around the world before the truth put its shoes on.
Tonight, New York Times reporter Amy Chozick put out an attempted “gotcha” tweet about Hillary. It gained instant traction, only to be followed by a correction.
The false tweet has more than seven times as many retweets and likes as the correction. This was simply a rush to “get Hillary” and Chozick should consider deleting the erroneous and damaging tweet.
UPDATE: Chozick deleted the original tweet.
