I had the great privilege of being an adviser to Hillary and to work with many of the amazing people around her. My unwavering loyalty and unabashed advocacy for her is entirely attributable to the person I got to know, the human being behind the distorted media caricature, someone of unparalleled dignity, brilliance, empathy, humor and fortitude.
Over the years, I’ve come to know thousands of her supporters: dedicated, passionate and determined individuals who are Hillary’s backbone. I’m in awe of their strength and perseverance (and of Hillary’s) as she smashes a barrier that has stood intact for nearly a quarter millennium.
Hillary’s voters have displayed inordinate grace in the face of a systematic — and profoundly unjust — attempt to marginalize them. They’ve been through so much, so many ups and downs, gut-wrenching moments, triumphs and defeats. Every step of the way, Hillary has led with resilience, toughness, and integrity.
